@guitarbridgecleaner the number of the chord in the diatonic scale, technical terms for these notes are tonic, subdominant, and dominant, or I IV V. hope that helps a little

@phanjonathanm exactly the same, so to play a D powerchord, you place your index finger on the root note, which is 5th string 5th fret, and your ring finger on the 4th string 7th fret. also to play E just slide everything up till your index is on the E note on the A string,, ie index on 7th fret 5th string, and ring finger on 4th string 9th fret.remember tho, these are just the base power chords, to get that swing use your pinky to pull off and hammer on to create a rhythm.

@phanjonathanm the chords are just power chords, meaning, you place your index finger on the root note of the chord, this progression being A, D, E and then your middle finger on one higher string with a fret gap,so to play A power chord, it would be your index on the 6th string 5th fred, and your middle finger on the 7th fret A string,
